DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY

NY International Shipping is an very unprofessional outfit. They essentially blackmailed us but requesting another $878 above the amount that was original requested. Our items had already been shipped internationally so there was not much we could do but pay. When I asked for a breakdown of the additional costs, it made not sense whatsoever.

Beware!! Terrible!!

PLEASE BEWARE!

This is the worst removalist company I have ever used. They are shaddy. Not only were their many hidden costs but the removalist wrote on my stuff as well, which wasn't claimed under insurance. The removalist company was not interested. Please feel free to message me for pictures and please beware. NEVER use them. Below is one photo where they wrote on my golf bag!! I have about 12 others like this. David Mazafi is the mans name, do NOT trust him.

Best service I have ever received for moving.

I normally do not write reviewes. Honestly because I am lazy , however when I get good service, I expect it. I felt obligated to reward the team at NY international shipping. My sales rep, Wayne was most helpful and detailed oriented, the team that handled the operations of the move was excellent , and very knowledgeable, but maybe most importantly, the team that came to my house to pack.
I have never seen anyone pack so well and caring for every item they packed. True professionals. Stunning to simply watch.
Everything just arrived after having smooth clearing through customs and delivered perfectly. My move went perfect from planning to implementing and completion. I can only praise the entire staff with great words. NY international shipping staff cares deeply about their customers. I am super happy and gladly recommend their moving services to anyone relocating!

Use them if you want your stuff wrecked or lost.

Last year I hired NY shipping to move me from New York to Dublin Ireland. I was warned against this company by another mover, advice I ignored much to my regret. So sloppy, so unprofessional. They LOST an 18th century Georgian sideboard. Lost it. Gone. How? I have no idea. It left my house but never made it to the docks of Dublin. Two white slipcovered sofas TRASHED. Ripped beyond repair. Their response? "That's why you have insurance.". The owner promised he would follow up and search for my sideboard himself but, of course, I've never heard from him. Please please please do NOT use this company. You will regret it just like I did.

International Move from the US to Spain.

I have never been so disappointed in the purchasing of any product or service in my entire live. Ever. Specifically, NY International Shipping was overall negligent and failed to provide a good service in the following ways:
1. Treated me poorly from the very beginning of our interactions. Emails such as “have these forms filled out immediately”! were standard way of communication to them.
2. One of my boxes of valuables was stolen while in their care. Most likely by them.
3. They sealed and shipped my container with full knowledge that not all my boxes have arrived. They promised to have the remaining boxes shipped separately but over 3 months later those are still in storage.
4. My furniture arrived with many damages. NY International Shipping’s answer is that I should have purchased insurance yet they never offered me such. They specifically provided my only with a “Decline Insurance Form” and asked me to complete it.
5. NY International Shipping loaded my container on the ship of a company in terrible financial condition (Hanjin Shipping) which had been only losing money for many years. Hanjin went bankrupt while my container was still at sea and the shipment was delayed significantly. Without our beds, my family slept on the floor of our new house for days.

TERRIBLE SERVICE - STAY AWAY

I never thought a service could be so TERRIBLE. Not a single element of my experience with NY International Shipping left me even remotely happy and I would strongly recommend against hiring them for any job. Here's why:

I had to ship my belongings from the US to Europe over the summer. I booked the service in July and I was given a timeline of 8-10 weeks and even told it may take less. Before I paid, I received a bunch of calls urgently requesting that I sign contracts, make payments etc. As soon as I sent the money the Odyssey of my shipping began.

In mid-August, about a month after my belongings were collected, I emailed to ask for an update and got no reply. I called and again, no reply. I emailed again, now quite irritated and was told my belongings had not left the US yet. Their excuse was COVID-19, which in their words had delayed their business. Of course, this made no sense since the pandemic started in March and I booked the service in July. One would expect they already knew about the delays then. So, I don't think it's unreasonable to think the possible COVID delays were ignored when they were wooing me as a potential client... some might call this deliberate misinformation...

Had this been the only issue with my experience, I wouldn't be writing this review. Yet, unfortunately it was only a brief glimpse of what was to come.

My shipment arrived in the port of Rotterdam in mid-October. That is, three months after it was collected in the US. At that point, I was put in contact with an agent in the Netherlands, who was to take charge of my shipment. After a few weeks where I got no email from the Dutch agent, I gave them a call and was told that although the ship had indeed arrived, the container had not been unloaded yet. Why? You guessed it: COVID-19. And, in addition, they were unable to give me an estimate of when it may be unloaded.

I was advised by the agent to direct all my complaints to NY International Shipping. After all, they were the ones I had paid, not the agent (where is the accountability, one might ask...) Again, I wrote an email to NY International Shipping and again no response. After yet another follow up, they agreed to look into the issue for me. Of course, I was never notified with the results of their inquiries. I ask myself if they even happened.

Finally, in early November, I was told the container had been unloaded but no hadn't been cleared by customs and therefore could not leave the port yet. Some small progress?

In mid-November, after another set of emails, calls etc. I again followed up and was told I had to pay an extra fee. Why? Because the container had been on the vessel longer than expected and therefore the ship demanded extra payment. I was told that unless I paid promptly I could not get my belongings back (does this sound painfully close to extortion?)

At this point, I was furious. Not only was my shipment almost a month and a half late (with at least two-three weeks to go until destination), not only did I have to buy new winter clothes since all of mine were packed away somewhere in Rotterdam being held hostage, but I was also being ask to pay for the delays an inefficiencies I had no role in creating.

For some reason, NY International Shipping operates under the assumption that COVID-19 can be used as an excuse for their total lack of professionalism and predatory and unfair business tactics. Of course, it's difficult to run a business during a global pandemic and there might be a hiccup here and there. But this is not the case with NY International Shipping.

Prospective clients BEWARE - these are not people you want to associate yourselves with in any way!

Discussed from the service.

NY International Shipping, if you ever see this name and need moving service, please run, don’t you even think about getting their service.
This “Company” if even can be called Company it’s the biggest joke and rip off. If you really want to torture yourself and check how strong your nervous system is then gooooood luck, go ahead!! They are the most dishonest and well trained liars, which catch themselves in their own lies. The soft and sweet voice and promises you hear in the first conversation, is the most well presented camouflage of this Company. The promising schedule time will triple for sure, and pray that your mattress is not going to look like been used to wipe the dirtiest New Jersey storage they have. But the night mares don’t stop there, they are about to continue. Giving all your money in advance for the service, you think the job will be done, but wait a minute, the stubbing is right around the corner. Even if is confirmed that everything is paid door to door, you will get a freezing E-mail, that the last port destination taxes are on you and they are not included in the payment you made earlier. This may shock you, but if you don’t pay them your container will stay there and will never going to be released and port surcharges will accumulate every day. The owner and anyone from the Company will not going even to care or give a damm about your belongings and your worries, because they got your money and it’s up to you to pay or not, but for sure you have been continually ripped off.
Guess what, you have absolutely no choice and no one can help you, but yourself digging in your pocket again for something what is paid already. This is the real picture please, please, please, run, run, run is fast is you can and remember don’t you ever turn back.
